An old but new adventure

How many times have we made this same trip to Jasper? Once living here means that you know ever bend, every mountain marking, every rest stop and every animal hang out, yet once again it is a trip of newness. After years and years of struggling to get his brothers bike running, Blaine finally saved up enough to buy the motorbike of his dreams. He has always wanted a sport touring speed bike where the two of us could tour together. Of course life took it's course and with kids, responsibilities and finances it took a lot longer than planned but FINLLY! Here we are, on our first sport touring getaway. We started our trip off with lunch at our favorite hangout cafe in town. Once again Blaine performed special entertainment without knowing that he was being watched. Good laughs there started our journey. Taking a same trip on a bike gives you a new experience. You stop at little road side shops that you never took the time to even care about before. You notice flowers on the side of the road. The smell of fresh rain pending ahead awakes your senses. As we drove thought the rain, I couldn't help but be mesmerized as the rain dropplets spread apart on my visor yet I still felt warm and dry. The animals we drove by we're so close that we could reach out and touch them. The brave adults cliff jumping on the side of the road were close enough that we could stop for a second and cheer them on. With all of our mini stops we added an extra hour to our destination arrival but I am sure it made the difference in arriving without a numb behind. We are so thankful for amazing friends who lent us pants, gloves and boots for this adventure. It made all the difference in the world. Arriving around 7:30pm, we quickly checked into our quaint little double bed approved accommodation and headed to Earls for dinner. What better way to end our day than enjoying supper on the balcony. Well, a rowdy group showed up and when they started taking pictures of their privates that was our cue to move indoors. One super spicy dish later we were once again on the bike and headed out to sit by the fire with Blaine's parents. It was a great start to our weekend getaway. So now that Blaine has finished with the burning ring of fire we are off to find out what day 2 has in store for us.
