Don't take the dirt path

Through out the days I will be posting some very valuable lessons that I learned pertaining to our holidays.

Lesson #1

When you have two personalities that tend to get a little impatient, short tempered, and stubborn, short cuts are not always a great idea. Some clues to turn around and abort the short cut idea are as follows.

~ A new subdivision is being built right buy the "old short cut route"

~ When asking for directions if their response is "have fun!" take it as DON'T GO!.

~ Logging roads are meant for big tractors and big, big trucks not a family road trip.

~ Always make sure you have a full tank of gas.

~ Know all features of your vehicle ahead of time. Believe it or not a compass does
come in handy.

~ It helps if the day is sunny and not raining with threat of a thunder storm.
Imaginations go wild with just a little rain and some dirt.

~ Make sure you have a really expensive cell phone that actually has service even in
the depths of a forest.

Most important of all.

~ If you do decide to turn around make sure those little green mile markers are going
down and not up.
