Ecclesiastes
We went to a funeral yesterday and like any funeral it made me think. It was a tragic death and from observation she was taken right in the middle of her season. Life can be so short, too short for some. Ecclesiastes has been my favorite book for some time now and when the priest read from it my mind began to wonder. Most people hate the thought of death, it scares them. I tend to worry about the ones I will leave behind and whether I was the type of person that would be remembered for good things and not bad. We tend to take so much for granted that if a tragedy did happen it would be just that "Tragic". Is it better to be prepared, or just enjoy life until its end? A lot of times we avoid the planning because it is hard and touchy. After all, who is going to be a better parent to your kids than yourselves? God gave us seasons. Summer, fall, winter, spring, they are all seasons. Just like in our lives .... a time to cry and a time to laugh, there is a time to be sad and a time to dance .... a time to be born and a time to die. Somehow, someway, we end up making it through our seasons. I believe if we treasure God and hold him close, in the end he will there for us in our seasons. He will heal the ones we love and the ones that end up hurting.
